Tilford, aged 26, wife of John Tilford, a respectable mechanic emplyed in Sutherlands boiler shop, was found lying on the floor dead, by her husband, on his return home after an absence of two days. Carver, Jr. Foreman, S. D. Pierce, James Adams Jr., M. Bixby, H.H. Knights, P.J. Renois, J.A. Allen, L. Tilford, was 26 years of age and that during a previous illness she had contracted the habit of taking an opiate, which practive she had followed to excess. It appeared in the evidence of a little girl of 13 years who lived in the family, that she left her alone on Thursday evening going home to her parents and remaining during the night, and on returning Friday morning dounr her lying on the florr. Failing to arouse her she called to Mr. Griswold who came in and found her lifeless, and a few minutes after the husband returned to his wife as described. From the testimony of Dr. Holcomb the family phycian, Mr. Broughton, druggest, Mr. Tilford, and others, the jury came to the conclusion that the deceased came to her death from the effects of an overdose of opiate which deceased was in the habit of using. In the affliction Mr. Tilford has the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral of the deceased took place from the Me Church last Sunday monring.
